The Administration Reports are a valuable and basic source on the administration of a state. Assam State Archives has a rich collection of administration reports of different departments such as Police Administration, Jail Administration, Land Revenue Administration, Excise Administration etc. since 1874.

These reports cover a vast area of political and administrative development of the state and the administrative machinery respectively. Moreover, General Administration Report of Assam (1874-1938), Manipur Administration and Naga Hills Administration Reports are also being preserved in Assam State Archives.
