The Assam State Archives Library has a towering collection of documents which are of great administrative and historic importance. A major part of this library consists of documents which are mostly government publications and reports from 1874 onwards.

These valuable materials are the primary resources to the scholars, administrators, general public and the student. They are thematically arranged and essily accessible. The Directorate has also computerized and bar coded all the library books in the "KOHA" software.
