The Assam State Archives is under the administrative control of the Secretariat Administration Department of the Government of Assam.  The Assam State Archives is headed by a Director who is assisted by Joint Director, Deputy Director, Chief Archivist, Archivist, Scientific Officer, Deputy Librarian and Assistant Archivist along with a group of technical and non-technical office staff.
